For its 6th edition, the OUAGA FILM LAB will take place from October 13th to 22nd, 2021, in Ouagadougou, partly during the 27th FESPACO (from October 16th to 23rd), so that participants can also benefit from the dynamism, energy and professionals present at this great meeting of African cinema.
OUAGA FILM LAB is a platform for meetings between young talents from the continent and international consultants. It establishes a direct two-way dialogue: between the African talents themselves; and with professionals from the rest of the world, promoting networking and exchanges around the difficulties inherent in film production both locally and internationally.
OUAGA FILM LAB is the first development and co-production laboratory in West Africa. Its main goal is to strengthen the competitiveness of directors and producers from the countries of the regions concerned in the various major international laboratories and to facilitate their access to local funding, international co-productions and their close collaboration with experienced mentors from the continent.
Since its 4th edition, the call for projects is open to professionals from West Africa, Central Africa and the Great Lakes who meet the criteria set out in the rules.
At the end of the call for projects, a committee selects 10 film projects that are invited to participate in the 6th edition of the Ouaga Film Lab. The main selection criteria is the artistic quality of the projects presented, as well as the sensitivity of the subject matter.
